What an absolute blast at this years MOD Grand National Championship round here at Delta RC Hobbies & Race Park . With attendees from all over the West Coast and focusing on our Norcal friends we enjoy making the trip every year. Something was in the air this year and the local 1/8 and 1/5 crowd showed up in a big way topping 140 entries! A recorded breaking number for us for this event here. Thank you to all the racers for the support this year all the Delta staff and all the MOD crew for the hard work keeping the event on track. We will be back around the same time next year. MOD JERICHO 5th Scale Tires just got a restock! Your favorite compounts in hard, medium, soft, and now SUPER SOFT (PINK)! In all honesty we didnt think we needed such a soft compound but with the success and handling advantages we saw with our current soft compound we thought heck a super soft may take it to another level! The beauty of Jericho compounds is that its now become a setup tool to bias the front and rear characteristics run soft front super soft rear to really lock it in or heck medium rear and super soft front to have the front really dig in the corners and get more rotation or have it velcroed to the ground with super soft all the way around! These tires will shine when the track has more loam and is in cooler / cold conditions or watered. Hey Guys little over one week out from the MOD Championship Series for 5th scale at Delta RC Hobbies & Race Park May 29-31! We will have 8th scale classes as well and you guys finish on Saturday! We can see the vision... Can you!? Potential location of MOD Hobbies 1/28 scale RC Speedway. Couple things to consider but we may have the opportunity for a pop up event to test the waters before we pull any triggers to test the size, capacity and what your guys thoughts are. Who would be down for a pop up event? We have much of the track already (purchase and been in cold storage) to put something on as well as timing system. You may have to bring power strip and table for the pop up race.

As MODHobbies.com grows we are always looking for more ways to help the community grow as well. Our Race Hobby shop in Anaheim is currently heavy into supporting the 1/8 & 1/5 racing community, but the bump in 1/28 scale racing popularity has us thinking what if!? We have the opportunity to build a designated 1/28 scale indoor facility smack dab off the 91 / 55 interchange right next to our MOD Race Hobby Shop, but we wanted to engage with the community in the SoCal Area to gauge if this type of racing facility is needed? Our goal is to grow the community and not to divide an already small pie if that makes sense. This would be to facilitate those drivers in this area that would like to get into the scale but haven't due to them not having a track within their zone of travel or racers in the area that want to race more and if they had a more local track it would be welcome. This undertaking is not inexpensive including rent and build out / staffing so before we pull the proverbial trigger on this we wanted to get your guys insights. We have some really cool ideas in mind and want to know your guys opinion on if you would like to see this take place or simply think the market is currently too saturated for another facility to pop up. Again this is something we are new too but it is in our wheel house. The pro shop on sight would be stocked with goodies needed with practice at least 5 days a week with weekly club races and special events in the future.
