Let’s solve the age old debate…..trim? Just fertilize?

Which one are you placing bets on?

🌸 Time to finish up those special garden art plates I started a few months ago. YES, I’m a bit of a procrastinator. šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

My vision of where these would hover over in my garden was ruined by some deer plowing through my hostas, but I can still see it in my mind. It will be perfect when things grow back……scratch that. It’s not about perfection. These flower plates are so special. When I look at them, my heart gets all gushy remembering my grandma who I loved so very much. Hostas or none, perfect surrounding or not, they’ll be just right wherever they are. It’s not about everything being perfect. It’s about the joy they’ll bring to my heart every time I look at them and remember one of my favorite people. Also, if they weren’t there, it would be empty now. So instead of wanting what isn’t there, I’m lucky I have something special to put in that space.

I suppose it’s a good reminder to put our focus on the good. What a shame it would be if every time I looked over there I thought of how it wasn’t perfect in that space instead of feeling the joy of remembering someone special, which is the real purpose of this garden art.

So there you have it. Deep thoughts by Jack Handy to start your morning. 🤣 (A throwback SNL reference) But in all seriousness, see the good…..in your space, in others. If you don’t, you might miss a blessing right in front of you.

Happy Wednesday, friends.

🌸 Anyone waking up to flowers that are gone from rabbits and deer? They love munching up all the beautiful things growing in our spaces. I’m fighting the same battle!

I get lots of questions about this at the garden center. Liquid Fence is the product I use to help deter those fuzzy little friends in my space. This year I started spraying a little too late and they found the delicious buffet I planted. 😳

If anyone has another tactic or solution to the problem, share it in the comments!

🌸 Garden spaces aren’t just for flowers. I love art pieces in the garden. Some might be large and showy that we pick up at an art show, some small that peek out like little treasures.

This one is pure sentimental and reminds me of my grandma. ā™„ļø I have a garden space around my patio, and I fill it with the purpose of just being a space that makes me happy - aside from the early season weeding 🤣.

When I look at these, I’m not just reminded of her dishes in a hutch. I can see her in her crisp white shirt making her coffee. I remember her hug greeting me on a visit. I’m transported back to the emotions of how she made a visit to her house feel, which was pure love.

That’s what I love about a garden… it can hold more than plants. It can hold memories. šŸ¤

Tomorrow I’ll show you how I attach these and get them placed right into the garden.

Part 2 of this poor, windblown planter šŸ˜…

I talk… a lot… so we needed a second video.
Here’s the final look 🌿

🌸 Sometimes they just need a fresh start 🌿

After the storm tipped this one over, it was time for a full reset. A little extra work… but worth it.

This turned into a bigger project than I expected, so I split it into two parts—part 2 coming right after.

How did everyone else fare in the storm?
We’ve heard everything from broken branches to full trees down. Hoping damage was minimal for you! šŸ¤

Tomorrow is it, the last day of the season! 9-12, 40% off all annuals.

It’s time for this girl to start tending to her own garden beds and containers…..and weeds!

I’ll still be posting and sharing what’s going on here, and we’ll open up again in the fall for beautiful mums and fall planters!

I really can’t express how grateful I am for every one of you who has shopped, shared, and encouraged in this journey/small business.

Thank you. ā™„ļøšŸŒøāœŒļø -E
