Today’s theme song is Footloose because apparently that’s the exact beat that describes my internal, youthful excitement for Girls Night Out tonight.

Ladies attending… do you feel it too? I haven’t had Friday night plans this exciting since before perimenopause showed up and started charging rent with joint pain being the currency.

Full house. Sold out crowd. Live sewing entertainment. Hot steamy ironing action to fog up your glasses. And honestly, at our age, being out after 8 PM with matching threads is basically a holiday. We’re living on the edge with rotary cutters, bobbin chicken and 3 yards of fabric.

Nothing says wild Friday night energy quite like a room full of women dangerously unsupervised with fabric scissors and caffeine.

Honestly, Kevin Bacon would be proud, I mean confused. Same Friday night adrenaline of our twenties. Different survival skills.

Friendly reminder: not everyone is as emotionally invested in your dream as you are.

You are over here color planning your quilt, calculating yardage, losing sleep to sew, and imagining where it will hang when finished… while somebody else is just wondering if there is any cake in the kitchen.

And honestly? That is normal.

Not everyone will understand your vision, your excitement, or why you care so much about tiny details that seem ridiculous to everyone else. That does not mean your dream is wrong. It just means you are the one called to build it.

Sew anyway. Quilt anyway. Protect your dream anyway.

Because the people truly meant to help build it will not just applaud the vision — they will help carry the load.
