We find a certain "heft," consistent sound, and solid craftsmanship in these horns, and believe that in most cases, older horns are worth fixing. Whether you have a vintage "baby" you'd like to return to its glory days, or your children have shown interest in your old student instrument from school, we'd welcome the opportunity to discuss repair options with you. BANDMAN's rental instruments are previously-owned, but are assured to be in great working order and still offer you the kind of economical solution you've been searching for. All of our rental instruments have been fully serviced by our own repair technicians and are ready to play. This contra-alto clarinet is a great example of the importance of using the proper technique for a job. This key arm and cup were replaced at some point in its life using soft solder, and unfortunately experienced a second failure during a rehearsal. Some electrical tape was enough to make it through rehearsal, but the key had to be rebuilt again and hard soldered for a more permanent fix.
