How do you know you've had a good day?

There are probably a million ways to measure it.

Our method today was a little different. Customers... well, actually their kids, gifted us an agate, some shark teeth, a piece of petrified wood, a super cool M&M rock, two seashells (including one with a barnacle still inside), and what might be the coolest gifts of all.

Indigo the leopard gecko and Toothless the bearded dragon apparently decided we needed a couple souvenirs from their summer sheds, so they left us a little reptilian memento too.

You can't buy that kind of kindness.

Some days the accounting tells you how the day went. Other days it's the people who walk through the door.

Today was one of those days.

Sometimes the most magical treasures aren't the ones you wear or display. Sometimes they're the ones that keep your treasures safe.

These beautifully crafted wooden keepsake boxes have arrived at It's Raining Zen in Alton. Each features intricate engraved artwork inspired by celestial symbolism, moon phases, intuition, mystery, and the connection between the seen and unseen worlds.
They're perfect for tarot cards, crystals, jewelry, herbs, keepsakes, handwritten intentions, or all those little sacred objects that somehow accumulate along a spiritual journey.

One design features the sun, moon, stars, and the guiding hand of intuition. The other showcases lunar phases surrounding a sacred geometric pattern and crescent moon, reminding us that life moves in cycles and every phase has its purpose.

This stunning Evil Eye wind chime combines several symbols that have been used across cultures for centuries. The blue evil eyes are traditionally displayed as symbols of protection, believed to reflect negativity, jealousy, and ill intentions away from the home and those who live within it. The crescent moon represents intuition, growth, and life's ever-changing cycles, while the stars remind us that there's always something bigger waiting beyond the horizon.

Surrounded by a radiant sunburst design and finished with dangling bells and protective eye beads, this piece is both beautiful and meaningful. Every breeze sets it in motion, creating a gentle reminder to focus on what brings peace, joy, and positive energy into your life.

The bad news? Terra Luna is completely sold out.

The good news? We still have a few available at It's Raining Zen in Alton.

If this one speaks to you, don't wait too long. The first batch disappeared pretty quickly.

New dream catchers have arrived, and this might be one of the most colorful collections we've ever brought into the shops.

From traditional designs with natural feathers and earth tones to vibrant rainbow lotus patterns, celestial moon motifs, and eye-catching crochet creations, there's something here for just about every style and every space.

Dream catchers have their roots in Indigenous traditions, where they were hung near sleeping areas as symbols of protection. According to the tradition, good dreams pass through while unwanted dreams become tangled in the web and fade away with the morning light. Over time, dream catchers have become beloved symbols of hope, protection, and peaceful rest.

Whether you're looking for a meaningful gift, something beautiful for your meditation space, or simply a piece that makes you smile every time you see it, these new arrivals are worth a closer look.

The rainbow lotus design is impossible to ignore. The crescent moon styles have a magical, celestial feel. And the Evil Eye patterns? They practically glow.

Available now at It's Raining Zen and Terra Luna.

Some journals are meant for grocery lists and phone numbers.

These are not those journals.

The newest arrivals feature dragons, lunar phases, mystical cats, dragonflies, sacred turtles, mushrooms straight out of a fairy tale, protective evil-eye designs, and enough vibrant artwork to make you want to start writing something important just so you have an excuse to carry one.

Use them for dream journals. Spell work. Gratitude practices. Book of Shadows. Travel notes. Tarot readings. Poetry. Garden plans. Deep thoughts. Terrible ideas. Brilliant ideas. The difference isn't always obvious at first.

Each journal features a vintage-style metal clasp to keep your pages secure, and the covers are absolutely stunning in person. The colors practically glow.

The hardest part isn't deciding what to write. It's deciding which one you like best.

Available now at Zen and Terra Luna. Like most things around here, once a particular design is gone, there's no guarantee we'll see it again.

Today's stop on our tour through world spiritual traditions takes us to Tibetan Buddhism, where practitioners observe a day dedicated to meditation on Red Tara.

Among the many forms of Tara found in Buddhist teachings, Red Tara is associated with protection, courage, compassion, and the ability to overcome obstacles. She is often called upon when facing fear, harmful influences, or difficult circumstances.

What makes Red Tara especially interesting is that her strength isn't rooted in domination or force. Instead, it comes from wisdom, awareness, and compassionate action. The message isn't to fight everything that stands in your way. It's to recognize what truly deserves your energy and what can simply be released.

Whether you view Tara as a deity, an archetype, or a symbol of inner strength, the idea has endured for centuries because it speaks to something universal. Every one of us faces challenges. Every one of us encounters fear. The question is how we choose to meet them.

Not a bad thing to reflect on today.

Look who just flew into both shops.

These hand-painted owls arrived recently, and we couldn't decide which location should get them... so we did the only sensible thing and split them up. Some are now waiting for new homes at It's Raining Zen in Alton, and the rest have landed at Terra Luna in Greenville.

Across many cultures, the owl is considered a symbol of wisdom, intuition, insight, and the ability to see what others might miss. As an animal totem, Owl reminds us to trust our inner knowing, pay attention to the things happening beneath the surface, and look beyond appearances before making decisions.

Of course, sometimes an owl's wisdom is simply this: slow down, observe, and stop trying to have all the answers immediately.

Not bad advice for the world we live in.

Whether you're drawn to them for their symbolism, their vibrant colors, or because they make you smile every time you look at them, these cheerful little guardians are now available in both shops..

Recently, you may have noticed a shift in our social media content.

We've spent a little less time talking about merchandise and a little more time talking about personal growth, spiritual journeys, kindness, history, folklore, and the things that help us make sense of this wild and wonderful experience called life.

The response has been incredible. Thank you for the comments, shares, conversations, and whatever all those social media metrics are that people count and measure. We're grateful for every bit of it.

Along the way, a few people have questioned our phrase, "Be a good human." They wonder what it means. They look for hidden meanings, agendas, or deeper interpretations.

The truth is much simpler.

It means be a good human.

Be kind when you can. Be honest. Help people when they're struggling. Treat others with dignity. Leave things a little better than you found them.

Nothing more. Nothing less.

And if those words feel complicated, perhaps the question isn't what they mean.

Perhaps the question is why such a simple idea feels difficult in the first place.

For more than 13 years, we've chosen kindness and not ever felt compelled to post (or boast) about it. We're not changing now.

Be a good human.
