The Armchair Adventurer

The Armchair Adventurer As a friend recently described us, "A good old fashioned bookstore. The way it should be". Please feel free to come by. Say hi. Chat. Buy a book. Read a book.

The Armchair Adventurer was opened by my Mother, Beth Holderbach, in 1987. She ran the bookstore with love, dedication and tenacity until 2010 when Multiple Sclerosis would no longer allow her to. My name is Morgen Holderbach and I began to restructure the bookstore in September of 2011. Thanks to a lot of hard work from my friends, volunteers and myself we are back in business. It's been a tough

couple of years trying to get everything going consistently given the recent illnesses in the family, but things are looking up. You'll find that we're not your average bookstore.

If I could get the same space for the bookstore would you like for us to come back and fix it up again for good?

We all know the truth and to put it lightly I got unroyally screwed. I’d like to buy the whole building and move the armchair adventurer back in.

The landlord admitted to my face that he did it illegally and I got screwed but it was -ha ha - too f**kin’ bad.

Please give me your feedback.

Sadly, The Armchair Adventurer is closed for the time being.... but will open again at some point down the line.

Anyone for open mic night?
A book and a coffee?

I will make my dreams and your dreams come true for an eclectic bookstore in Alpine.

Besides being open...,
Do you have any dreams for the bookstore?

Thanks,
Morgen

I was evicted a few months ago.
Not sure what I’m going to do.
Possibly find another place to have the Book Store.
Feeling really bad about it.
Finally sinking in.

I am doing online book sales in the interim.

If anyone is looking for a certain book you can meet me at my apartment patio to exchange book/payment.

Please wish me good fortune.

Thanks!

The Armchair Adventurer has been closed after 35 years.
My mom started the bookstore in 1984 and I came in 2011.
Both had found the love of our life.

I have been evicted under precarious circumstances.

I’m trying to get the Bookstore back.

If you would like to show your love and want for the bookstore to reopen -

my landlord is:
