Amanda's Attic

Amanda's Attic Amanda's Attic has been selling records for more than 20 years, including more than 10 years on the Internet.

We formerly sold records, postcards and more at walk-in locations in three states, but we closed these to concentrate on selling on the Internet.

Just sold a single 45 rpm record for $65, but most records we have for sale are much less expensive than that!

The popularity of vinyl records is increasing, but--unlike some others--we have not raised our prices. in fact, we regularly lower many of them.

Want to learn more about postcards? The website of the Metropolitan Postcard of New York City is very good. Here is a link to it: http://www.metropostcard.com/ I've found the section of publishers, which includes information about when they operated and the types of postcards they published, to be especially helpful.

I stopped at a traffic light behind a car that had a decal of stick figures in the window. Usually they identify each family member and pet by name. This one, however, listed the Ass Family: Dumb Ass, Hard Ass, Half Ass, etc. Modern humor? Not really. I have a postcard for sale (Delcampe #34904180) which uses the same idea, only with the Damm Family: the Damm Ancestors (monkeys), the Damm Nuisance (the baby), the Damm Pup (family dog), and even the Damm Automobile. It is copyright 1905!

QUESTION: How did you begin selling records? ANSWER: When I was a college freshman a friend from high school asked me to try selling some records at the college that he didn't want anymore. I put some notices up around the dorm and all of the records (about 100) sold within a week. I was hooked on selling records.

We're adding additional postcards and records almost every day. And we're lowering prices on many items that we have listed for a while.

Unique gifts for people celebrating major events in their lives are memory books filled with postcards showing the hospitals where they were born, the schools and colleges they attended, the churches where they were married, street scenes of the towns where they lived, the hotels or cabins where they stayed while on vacation, etc.

At least 150 records and almost as many postcards added to our websites in the past week.
