// Fishing Report - 5/29/26 //

In the last two weeks we have seen the shift of severe drought to high muddy water, causing the fishing pressure to be reduced to almost zero on our tailwater.

Before the rain, the Chattah***hee tailwater was fishing phenomenally and offered a great experience with clear water and willing fish. While no one likes a rain delay or chocolate milk colored water, this much-needed rain has been a welcomed sight! It’s finally giving some of our fish a break from angling pressure and bringing water levels back to normal.

As we begin to see things clear, private water trips are still available in half day mornings and the H***h should be back in full swing after this weekends rain pushes through!

On the flip side, lake Lanier levels are beginning to rise and the spotted bass fishing has been picking up with some fish coming up and eating top water. Finding groups of fish coming up consistently is a challenge, but small Game Changers on intermediate lines has been on fire.

As stated above, the Chattah***hee has been blown out the last few days causing the carp fishing opportunities to be nonexistent. Once we begin to see the turbidity decline (hopefully late next week), these fish should have been given a nice break and ready to eat a well presented fly again!

All things Chattah***hee are fired up!

The Chattah***hee continues to be a fantastic summertime fishery. The trout fishing has been incredible on all fronts, with float trips and wade trips both being great options to explore the fishery. The fish don’t seem to be too picky at the moment, with stoneflies, worms, perdigons, and small pheasant tails all producing fish. We are still catching a fair number of browns, targeting them in some of the pocket water with long light leaders due to high sun. Whether it’s your first time fishing the area or a seasoned angler, the h***h offers anglers of all skills levels an excellent way to spend a summer day.

As of the last few weeks, the carp fishing on the flats has been gearing up post spawn with both of our carp guides getting on good fish the last little bit. Half days and full days available to target these guys.

Further down the Chattah***hee, shoal bass and striper are being targeted and have been fairly happy and willing to eat. Low water has made it a bit tougher to sneak up on some fish, so targeting the faster deep water has been the move.

Yesterday we had a day on Lanier we won’t soon forget! Hank the Yank at the helm and Carl on the bow picking off his first few bass on the fly while learning to drive a fly into the wind. A great morning that was beyond just the fish in the boat but about memories made and dreams fulfilled. We’d say Carl is hooked to say the least!

Huge thanks again to and our N. Georgia fishing community for supporting friend in need this past winter. We are grateful to be part of it all!👏

We are at peak season regarding all fishing in our area! Trout, bass, and carp season are all in full swing, and what better time to be outside!

Now that we’ve received some rain 🙌, private water fishing has a bit of a reprieve from the extremely low water conditions and continues to be strong. Handling fish with care as we continue to see drought conditions is of the utmost importance to us here as we move toward summer.

Chattah***hee float trips have been fishing phenomenally, with browns and rainbows showing themselves regularly on deep nymph rigs, usually with a stonefly imitation with a small midge just up above.
Bass on the lake and the river have been fired up for top water early in the mornings and transitioning to smaller baitfish and crawfish patterns.

As the sun continues to rise earlier and earlier, opportunities to sight fish for carp become more abundant. Whether you’re wanting to sharpen your flats fishing skills for your next bonefish trip, or just simply wanting to target a new species on the fly, this is an excellent opportunity for both!
