Freaky Friday find… and it really lives up to the name!

This striking 1900s bead necklace is made from uranium glass—glowing an electric green that feels almost otherworldly under certain light. Measuring 13 inches in length, it’s a bold example of early 20th-century glasswork and curiosity-driven design.

Uranium was added to glass in very small amounts to create that vivid green-yellow color and a natural fluorescence that made the material highly desirable in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Before its radioactive properties were fully understood, it was valued purely for its beauty and ability to glow under UV light. Once concerns about radioactivity became better known, its use in consumer goods declined, but pieces like this remain fascinating artifacts of that experimental era in glassmaking.

A little eerie, a little beautiful, and completely unforgettable. 💚
