I wish we were making this s**t up! We have been integrated with Gunbroker for some time now and numerous sales and no one bitching about shipping cost. Well this morning we wake up to a client telling us our flat rate was too much for 1 box of 50 rounds. I get that. But if it’s too much for 1 box, don’t waste your time with a small purchase and make it worth it. There’s a thought! Then he proceeds to tell us what he’s willing to pay, 9 whole dollars. That’s right….9. It cost us more just to ship with UPS as it is nevermind the cost of getting it to us, the time to pack etc so clearly this chap has never ran a business. So let’s break this down. About half our inventory we get through distributors who charge us a flat rate. So now we have shipping cost involved getting it to us. That’s number 1. Even if it drop ships we still have shipping costs incurred. (Imagine a business charging another business to move product to them, it’s crazy right). Number 2 we have expenses involved in getting it shipped to a customer, I believe they call it shipping cost. You know because FedEx and UPS charge for moving stuff. It’s a weird concept. Number 3 we have to put the package together. Boxes, prep time, packing it (material), then putting the shipment together. It’s a weird notion that all this cost money. We say all this to say, if you feel the flat rate amount is too much for your small purchase, then quit being a tight ass with your micro purchases and purchase like a big boy and make it it worth it. If you can’t and flat rate shipping out prices you, maybe this hobby isn’t for you. Find something else. I hear chess and checkers is hella cheap. Yall have a good weekend.
