There is just something so nostalgic about living in a small town as the holidays are upon us. The sense of community that it brings when we take the time to look at what makes Alfred so special. Sold exclusively at Kindred Collective for $3 each or packs of 7 for $18 each both online and in-store, come and pick up some for you and anyone you want to share the magic of Alfred this holiday season! ❤️

Goooood morning Alfred and Happy “Meet Your Maker” Monday! This week’s artist is a beloved member of our community. A woman who is endlessly generous with herself, feisty, loving, warm, and so much more, this artist, author, advocate, friend, mama, partner, daughter, and TRUE human being is someone we are so lucky to have as part of our collective. 😍

Universe, Kindred Collective is very proud to feature and introduce to you - Cyan Corwine! 💫

Cyan is an eclectic creative who has worked professionally as an author, illustrator, costume designer, puppet maker, performer, devisor and arts educator. These days, her creative muscle is put to work as a program Director in higher-ed. The through-line in her non-linear career has been a love of people, the lands we occupy, and the stories we tell ourselves to make meaning and renew determinations as we grapple with the confounding realities of life.

Cyan’s children are by far her most treasured creation. She finds endless inspiration and joy learning and growing and giving and shifting and adapting and laughing and trying and failing and succeeding and falling apart and questioning and starting again alongside her beloved family.

Her old life, new lease collection is born from flotsam and jetsam with a past. Celebrating the stuff we gather, the messes we make, and the creative effort it takes to reimagine and renew. Cheers to you and your own storied existence

The crisp fall weather on this October “Meet Your Maker” Monday has us already gearing up for the holidays and today’s artist is a perfect introduction to the season! When one first meets this beloved human, you can see right away how much he cares about what he is doing and creating. As an artist, educator, parent, partner, friend and leader, the depth and intentionality of his work is why we asked him to design and create the 2026 Alfred Ornament. ❤️

Universe, please acquaint yourself with this Wellsville resident and AU educator - Trevor Bennett!💫

Trevor Bennett is an artist and educator originally from Little Rock, Arkansas. Today he supports Alfred University’s School of Art and Design as the Director of Foundations.

Trevor’s interdisciplinary approach to art means that he and his students are always changing gears, looking for new references, and important connections.

He often reminds them: “something is going to happen!”

All Alfred ornaments will be available in-store or via email/social media message. 50% of all proceeds will be benefitting the Alfred Montessori School.

It’s that time of year once more and we are so excited to announce this year’s Alfred Ornament and benefiting local organization!

The 2026 Alfred Ornament has been designed by Trevor Bennett Trevor Bennett and will be benefitting Alfred Montessori School!

In Trevor’s words:

Made of glazed porcelain and vintage ribbon the “Love Award” tree ornament is designed to celebrate those who spread love. A ring of hearts reminds us that kindness begets kindness. The ornament is made to look like a first place medal. It’s an award reserved for true athletes of companionship and camaraderie.

This holiday season, love wins!

Available in 17 different varieties of ribbon, at $30 each, 50% of all ornament sales will directly benefit the Alfred Montessori School, while supplies last.❤️

This week’s “Meet Your Maker” Monday featured artist is a lady who is well known to many of us here in the village. A multifacted musician, maker, farmer, advisor... (the list goes ON!), this lady’s talent and kindness are just some of the many reasons we are so fortunate to have her as part of the Kindred team. From reclaimed fabric bags & key fobs to her breathtaking watercolors, anyone would be lucky to bring a piece of her work home with them. 🌈

Universe, we are so thrilled to instroduce you to - Betsy Kent!💫

Betsy Kent works across watercolor, silk painting, and drawing, with a particular focus on fiber arts and sewing. She and her husband co-own Kent B**r Company and live on their family farm, where the textures, rhythms, and landscapes of rural life provide an ongoing source of inspiration for her work.
