Already Read Used Books

Already Read Used Books We had over 25,000 books in the store! Already Read Used Books had over 25,000 fine used, vintage, out-of-print, and nearly new books. Now CLOSED!

Brick and Mortar Bookstore 2006-2016.

07/31/2016

We officially closed at the end of March 2016. Not a victim of the Internet, but instead traffic created by the city permitting developers to put buildings where there was either no Metro and/or inadequate street infrastructure.

At this time, most of the books and shelving are in storage. If anyone is interested in helping us in starting another used bookstore, give us a call! We still have a lot of books, and we would love to discuss the project!

The hysterical cheerleaders of the e-book failed to account for human experience, and publishers blindly followed suit. But the novelty has worn off

Even more good news about the book business! Now, if we could do something about the traffic in the area!

The Brown family were occasional customers to our bookstore from time to time. Our bookstore is/was located near this intersection. However, we didn't actually see the accident, but we saw the aftermath. The Alexandria Police are looking for eyewitnesses to the accident. From where the car was stopped and the location of his bicycle, the accident didn't make any sense considering he was commuting via bicycle from the PTO. The intersection of West Taylor Run Parkway and Duke is wicked. The massive commuter traffic along with drivers who run the red light, the intersection has on occasions been deadly if not scare worthy. Donate if you can or share on your page! Each share gets this fund raiser another 37 dollars!

Ryan Brown, father of 2 MacArthur students and resident of the Taylor Run neighborhood, was injured in an accident on Thursday, May 5th. He was biking home from work when he was hit by a car at the intersection of West Taylor Run and Duke Street. He suffered severe head trauma and was taken to GW...

For reasons beyond getting "high"!

We all have done this once or twice. ;)

We're almost finished cleaning out the bookstore, and hopefully by Saturday, we will be at the Mount Vernon Antique Center full time. We will have a limited selection of books for the time being, but if someone is looking for something in particular, we may have it in storage, so either call or stop by. We have set up our bookbinding business there. Our kitties are at home with us, but they miss all of the attention from their customers!

We had a great turn out for the yard sale! Lots of people and regular customers stopped by. Some were disappointed to find out we had already closed. It was a beautiful weekend for the sale. We're going to miss this store and the great customers we had over the years. Hopefully, by next week we will be setting up our bookbinding shop. We'll have a limited number of books for now, but hopefully in the future have more to offer! We'll post when we make our final move to the Mount Vernon Antique Center as Alexandria Bookbinders and Alexandria Books!
