On the day of the Tour, beginning at 9:45 am, present your email with QR code(s) at one of our ticket pickup locations. You will receive a wristband as well as a Tour Book (if purchased). You will also have access to our Tour Book online. Hardcopy and online Tour Books contain a map to guide to the Homes on the Tour. There are two ticket pickup locations:

Two very modern white kitchens:
Starting in the 1980s, white became the dominant interior paint of choice. Why? In the 1800s, a richly colored wall was the epitome of style, a status symbol, because it was expensive to create a bright, vibrant color. That all changed in the 1920s, when a trend setter changed the preference for color: a London-based interior designer famously created an influential all-white room in her house. A rare Alexandria Richardsonian Romanesque!

Is…. part of the Homes Tour line-up. The style is named for architect Henry Hobson Richardson, who practiced in the 1870s and 1880s and originated the design. Characterized by massive stone walls, and deeply arched entrances, this townhouse, to delight the eye, has a large convex copper bow window projecting its curves; the round arches framing the front door and window echo the window’s curvature. THREE dressing rooms The Twigs are getting the shop ready for opening in September: the exciting news is that an additional dressing room has been added! There are now THREE dressing rooms for your thrifting pleasure! Come by in September.

We reopen for the winter 2024 season on Wednesday, January 3rd. A change in hours for the New Year has us open on Wednesday nights from 6-8pm as well as Thursday nights. We are located at 106 N Columbus St. in Old Town Alexandria

The Twig held their annual Actives Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec 3 at the home of Carol Skiba. Thank you to The Entertainment Committee for planning this fun event!

The Twigs held their monthly meeting at Inova Alexandria Hospital on November 13th and had a fun time catching up. Thank you to the Twigs who volunteered to bring the delicious food made from recipes out of one of The Twig cookbooks!

The Twigs enjoyed catching up last night at the Monthly Twig Meeting at INOVA Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia. The Twigs are celebrating their 90th Anniversary and have raised more than $5 million dollars for the hospital since 1933.
