Dear Cherished Customers and Friends,

It is with a heavy heart that I share with you my decision to close The Hour. After much thought and reflection, I have decided to bring this chapter of my life to an end and embark on a new journey and in a new direction.

Know that I did not make this decision lightly. When I opened The Hour over 15 years ago, I sought to bring beauty and joy into your homes by sharing with you my love for the cocktail hour. While I am closing the store, I take great pride in knowing that I have presented to you the very best in vintage cocktail ware over the years and in sharing with you my extensive knowledge about our cocktail pieces and their designers and manufacturers. I have truly loved connecting with you and in helping you create your own stylish home bars. With the help of so many talented bartenders, I also take great joy in knowing that I taught you how to make tasty cocktails at home. Whether it was through our many in-store cocktail classes and parties, or through the numerous books and blogs I wrote that provided you with recipes and anecdotes, you now know how to make and serve a great drink in style from the comforts of your own home. Finally, I want to thank you for encouraging me to spread my wings when I started designing my own cocktail pieces over six years ago. My wholesale store, The Modern Home Bar, would never have been possible without your belief in me and the support of my new products. The Modern Home Bar can now be found in hundreds of retail stores nationwide! While The Hour is closing, The Modern Home Bar will continue on.

So now is the perfect time to stock up on holiday gifts, wedding gifts and those special items you’ve been coveting from The Hour. Everything must go! This truly is your last opportunity to own or gift a special something from The Hour.

To celebrate our closing, we are offering 30% off all of our inventory starting October 25. All purchases must be made online at www.thehourshop.com. We will ship your orders as fast as we can through UPS and will offer local pickups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-5p (the store will be open for local pickups only on those days). Starting Saturday, November 9, we will be opening our store doors to the public on Saturdays and Sundays from 10a-5p. As all our available inventory is online, instore purchases, again, must be made online using your personal devices. If an item is not marked as “sold out”, it means it is still available. First come, first serve! Also, please note that all sales are final sales. We will wrap orders as fast as we can and, again, will offer local pickups on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 1-5p for those who would prefer to pick up at a later date.

Sharing with you my love for the cocktail hour and the artistry behind crafting and styling a drink at home has truly been a great joy to me. I hope you will continue to cherish that special time of the day with your good friends and family, and enjoy stylish good drinks at home for years to come!
