Admittedly, this is a bit of a surreal moment for me. This is Jerry Garcia's first OBEL guitar and the first one ever made - the Travis Bean TB500 #12. It debuted on December 31, 1976 and Jerry played it through much of 1977.

And plugged into it is a custom two-channel (TS/TRS) loom I made as part of Signal Chain Audio's Tie-Dyed Braided Instrument Cable limited series run. This one is #58/500.

I'm so grateful to Jason Scheuner of and for his kindness and inviting me into his close circle of friends, musicians, luthiers, and collectors - all of whom are so enthusiastic and dedicated to keeping the music alive.

I just a kid from Tennessee.

Presentation is everything. We take a lot of pride in how we package our products and how they are presented to the customer when they arrive at their doorstep.

It's like going out on a first date - don't dress like you just got off the couch.

We started with white 10 x 10 x 2 boxes, but quickly realized they got REALLY dirty during shipping. Next, it was custom-printed bubble mailers. Then, about 18 months ago, we ordered a ton of 10 x 10 x 3 custom-printed boxes to help us achieve our vision.

But something happened today - we (accidentally) ran out. Oops.

This gives us the opportunity to edit/tweak/improve our design and rethink ways to improve the overall presentation. For now, we're having to pivot to using padded kraft mailers - not exactly out favorite way to ship products, but they'll have to do for a little while. Apologies in advance.

That said, it's what is on the inside that counts, right?
