Our family is urgently searching for Ayanna Walton, who has been missing since May 19, 2026. She was last seen in Smithfield, Virginia and may possibly be trying to get to the Hopewell area.
Ayanna is:
* 25 years old
* 5’2”
* Around 100 lbs
* Dark curly hair / brown eyes
Last seen wearing:
* Tie dye black shirt
* Dark jeans
* Fuzzy slippers
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered through support from a nonprofit organization for DIRECT information that leads to the successful location and safe return of Ayanna Walton.

🐊: 🐊 BREAKING NEWS: Federal and State Officials Consider Closing Florida’s ‘Alligator Alcatraz, the NYT reports

We are not taking our foot off the gas until “Alligator Alcatraz” is officially closed and the harm to the Everglades has been undone.
We have been pushing to stop harm at “Alligator Alcatraz” since Gov. DeSantis and his appointee, Attorney General James Uthmeier, announced it last summer with Kristi Noem and other federal officials. Our legal fight is moving forward, and we have strong claims to bring when we soon return to federal district court in Miami.
The evidence our public records suit against Florida revealed - immense cost, harm to the surrounding Everglades, and lack of adherence to our bedrock environmental laws - brought pressure to close the facility. Thank you for standing with us to demand an end to this dark chapter in Everglades history.
No airports, no rock mines, no prisons. Only Everglades.

♥️ Across the U.S., Indigenous people are gathering to honor loved ones as part of the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples movement. The AP and its partners in the Global Indigenous Reporting Network — MPR News, KOSU and The Imprint — spoke to families about the disproportionate violence in their communities and the changes they want. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, Native Americans and Alaska Natives are more than twice as likely than the general population to be victims of a violent crime, and Native women are twice as likely to be victims of homicide.
