The word "cailleach" in the Scottish-Gaelic means old woman!, Owl in Gaelic is "cauileach-oidhche" , believe it or not it means "night-cockerel" or β€œwhite old woman of the night.” Because the owl was most often associated with the Crone aspect of the Celtic Hag Goddess β€œCailleach”.

The owl is often a guide to and through the Underworld, a creature of keen sight in darkness, and a silent and swift hunter. Celtic folklore says the wise owl can give you wisdom by helping unmask those who would deceive you or take advantage of you. β€œHoo” knew?

WALLACE'S LEGACY

On the 23rd of August 1305 Under orders of King Edward I of England Wallace was callously abd brutally killed..

The intent was to completely destroy the man the hero and the cause..

Edward placed across northern England and across Scotland parts of Wallace as an example of what would happen to those who dare defy his control..

This action didn't have the effect he intended
Wallace's remains in Scotland according to the legends were quickly removed and given proper Christian burials fitting of the time

What followed was the exact opposite of what Edward intended..

The Legacy of Wallace is to inspire..
No matter the odds no matter the foe to continue to fight the good cause and his sacrifice at Smithfield inspired a whole nation
While there are no diaries of Bruce and his inner thoughts to suggest what he thought or felt but within the year Bruce rose up Crowning himself king and filling the void left by Wallace..

There is a quote from Outlaw king that truly resonates about the true character of Wallace

"He is a man who loves his country more than he loves his life"..

Wallace for all his deeds his actions and spirit was indeed that man who loved Scotland more than his life
He inspired those to join a cause that would most likely end in their death they were not pressed into service or bought to fight.. They came because they believed.. They believed in Wallace and they believed in Scotland.. A powerful legacy that has continued to remain resolute through out the long centuries and forms part of the very core of Scotlands identity today...

What an important impact for one man to make....
