Look, we need to talk about Batman 163.
Yes, you are reading that right. Batman: Hush 2 (or “H2SH” if you like bad acronyms) is FINALLY putting out its finale. After a months-long hiatus where the book vanished into the Phantom Zone, it’s back.
Why was it delayed? Well, turns out Jim Lee is busy being the literal Publisher and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics, which apparently involves a lot of meetings, plus some well-documented health and work-life balance adjustments. But hey, it’s only a little awkward that DC literally relaunched the main Batman title with a brand new number one by Matt Fraction months ago while this volume was still technically bleeding out in the corner.
Come get your resolution. Word on the street is it ends on a cliffhanger, because of course it does. Don’t worry, Hush 3 is already promised for 2027, so we can prepare to do this all over again.
Other Books Actually Ship on Time
If you want comics that didn’t require a temporal displacement machine to arrive, we have plenty of those too:
DoomQuest 1: Marvel decided to give Doctor Doom his own 10-issue miniseries where he travels through space and time because Reed Richards got invited to a party he didn’t. Peak petty Doom. We love to see it.
Wiccan & Hulkling: Raid of Ultron 1: An anniversary celebration gets crashed by Ultron. Because nothing says “happy anniversary” like a genocidal killer robot trying to reclaim your family members.
Capes 7: Image Comics kicks off a brand new story arc here. With Invincible off-planet fighting the Viltrumite War, the B-team has to step up.
JLA/Avengers 1 Facsimile Edition: If you missed out on one of the greatest crossovers in comic history, Marvel and DC are letting you pretend it’s the early 2000s again.
The henchgoons are currently masking their deep-seated exhaustion by forcefully shoving these into bags and boards as we speak. See you at the counter.
