Dear friends of slot cars,
It’s that time again. We’re checking in with you every two weeks to share the latest news from the slots scene. Today’s focus is on the second of our two new releases for April. In addition, we’ll be launching a special service for our American friends before the end of April.
Our second new release for April is another Bauer model. Encouraged by the very positive feedback on the BMW 2002 Turbo and the Transit panel van, we decided to continue our series of reviving old mold sets. Vintage is alive and well, even in our small models. The result is a reissue of the legendary Opel Manta A. In 2000, we not only released the BMW 2002 Turbo as a new model, but also the first version of the Opel Manta GS/E. We discussed our idea with Sanda Littke. She was able to produce the Opel Manta A again without any problems using the old mold sets. At first, we considered the very attractive SR version of the Manta A. But feedback from the questionnaire showed us that, for some customers, our Bauer models from recent years have become too sporty. There is great interest in ordinary street cars from the 60s and 70s. This likely stems from the model selection during the old AMS Stadtbahn era. This has now led to the Manta A SR becoming an unspectacular model with basic equipment. The chosen color is also not a typical bright color of the era, but rather an unobtrusive one: pastel beige. As the only sporty feature for our new Manta A, we treated ourselves to the typical Opel “Sport steel rims.” With 3D printing, a two-tone wheel can be designed very nicely. With these sport wheels, the Manta looks very authentic. Otherwise, no black hood, no trim stripes! Instead, a beautifully painted front grille and nice taillights. An UltraLow chassis with interior and driver figure is our standard for all new models.
Bernhard, who painted the models 25 years ago, has been helping us again for about six months now. He hasn’t lost any of his touch, and his amazing skills continue to produce stunning results on our models. The front grille and taillights are absolute highlights. Every light on the Manta is hand-painted.
The new pastel beige Opel Manta will arrive at the end of April. Here are a few pictures of the prototype:

Development of the new Bauer model, the “Porsche 914,” has already begun. Thank you once again for your enthusiastic participation in the contest. We haven't forgotten about the promised reward!
As we announced in our last newsletter, the first new release in April will be another Racing Heroes 70s model. Jonas Remmele’s race car caught our eye during last year’s Youngtimer racing series. This beautifully built race car is painted in the classic yellow-and-black color scheme of the first Opel Kadett GT/E. Our model isn’t an exact replica of the original because our mold set is the facelift version with the turn signals next to the headlights. A redesign would have been too expensive. AFX Racemaster has announced two more versions of the sleek 1966 Shelby Mustang Fastback GT350. Unfortunately, there are no pictures of the AFX models available yet. Here are two pictures of the original cars:

B4Slot is coming to America!
There are two good reasons to make our offer even more attractive to US customers:
1) There is a large fan base in the US that really enjoys these small slot racers. This love for slot cars stems from their immense popularity in the 1960s.
2) Current customs regulations make direct shipping to US customers from Germany so expensive that it is simply too costly to ship individual orders to the US. We have already learned this the hard way through various customer feedback.
We have thought long and hard about how we can find a way, despite the import barriers, to offer our models to US customers at reasonably affordable prices. Eric Coleman, who has been actively supporting us for many years, is helping us with this. He will manage a warehouse for us from which US customers can order. Eric is already dedicated to serving our customers in America.
Larger packages are also more cost-effective than small UPS packages. Therefore, there will be a separate B4Slot shop exclusively for US customers, where all prices already include import costs! This ensures clear cost transparency for our US customers.
The US shop will go live in April. Testing and preparations are already underway. More on this in the next newsletter in 14 days, on April 26. Things may not run perfectly at first. We welcome your comments and feedback.
We are planning an extended vacation period in May. The past few months have been very busy. Now it’s time to relax. Our production, shipping, and warehouse facilities in Germany will therefore be closed from May 1 through May 30, 2026. No new products will be shipped in May. We plan to ship only one new product per month from May through August. Since no new products will be released in May, we will ship two new products in June. The frequency of our newsletter will be reduced to a 4-week cycle until the end of September.
We’re treating ourselves to a long vacation, and we’re giving you a 5% bonus on all items for shop orders placed from May 1 through May 30, 2026. All orders received will then be shipped starting May 31, 2026.
