People often see the finished quilt, but they don’t always see everything that happens before the sewing begins. 💙

Today is one of those planning days—sorting shirts, taking inventory, designing layouts, and making sure every piece has a place.

Each quilt tells a different story, and I love the process of figuring out how to turn a pile of shirts into something meaningful that can be enjoyed for years to come. 🧵

This quilt was such a special one to create 💛🧵

It was made for a grandchild using shirts connected to a family history of New York police officers and firefighters — so every block holds memories, stories, and pieces of a life spent serving others ❤️💙

To make the quilt feel a little softer and brighter for a baby, we added custom sashing between all of the blocks using fabric the customer carefully selected herself. I also created a custom monogram block using that same fabric for an extra personal touch ✨

I love projects like this that allow me to step outside of a standard layout and create something truly unique and meaningful for a family.

This one was definitely filled with extra details, extra planning, and a whole lot of heart 🗽💙❤️
