History of the Gadsen Flag

This was a flag originally designed by Christopher Gadsen and used as a naval ensign as far back as 1775. A flag of this exact type was hung up where Congress met in Philadelphia.

Why a rattlesnake?
Ben Franklin stated it was because the rattlesnake was found in "no other quarter of the world besides America" Ben also noted there were 13 rattles on the venomous snake which represented the 13 colonies.

This flag is a strong symbol of our fight for independence from England and a proud part of every Americans heritage. It has nothing to do with hate or anything of the like - it symbolizes the desire of our original 13 colonies to become free from an oppressor. To believe otherwise would be doing the history of this country a disservice. In this 250th anniversary year of the signing of the Declaration of Independence it's important to understand there are forces acting to rewrite our history. Know the truth.

David will be out of town tomorrow (Thursday) till Sunday - Sam will be running things. If you have any questions about turkey g_uns or hu_nting he's the one to ask as he's a HUGE fan of the sport. He's also extremely knowledgeable on the latest handg_uns.

Don't forget next weekend we will be at the Hamburg show Friday through Sunday so the shop will be closed.
