Even though life has been a little chaotic for me lately, there’s one event that’s very close to my heart that I hope you’ll consider supporting.

This month’s Helping One Woman dinner honors my friend, Rhiana Jones.

Many of you know Rhiana as the smiling face behind local paint parties and art classes. What you may not know is that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is facing a difficult road ahead filled with treatments, medical appointments, and a lot of uncertainty.

Our goal is to pack the room and remind her that she is surrounded by a community that cares.

If you’ve never attended a Helping One Woman dinner, they’re a lot of fun. You’ll enjoy a great meal, meet wonderful people, and have the chance to win some amazing raffle prizes. We’ve collected beautiful gift baskets, home décor, handmade jewelry, tie-dye creations, gift certificates, and lots of other unique items generously gifted by local businesses and community members.

Every ticket sold helps make a difference, but just as importantly, every person in the room helps show Rhiana that she isn’t facing this alone.

Have you heard of Helping One Woman (HOW)?

HOW is a local organization that brings women together to support another woman in our community who is facing a challenge or difficult season in life. Each month, members gather for dinner, friendship, raffles, auctions, and a chance to make a real difference for someone who needs a little extra support.

This month’s Oakhurst HOW recipient is my dear friend, Rhiana Jones.

Rhiana and I met about nine years ago when we co-hosted a food preservation class together. What started as a shared project turned into a lasting friendship built on our love of creativity, community, and helping others. Many of you know Rhiana as the smiling paint party instructor who encourages people to discover their artistic side. What you may not know is that she was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and is facing a difficult road ahead filled with treatments, appointments, and uncertainty.

We have room for 150 people at Rhiana’s dinner, and I would love to see every seat filled. Because of work, teaching classes, and simply being a busy adult, Rhiana doesn’t realize how many people in this community care about her. Let’s show her.

If you’ve never attended a HOW dinner, they’re a wonderful evening filled with good food, laughter, raffle prizes, silent auction items, and an incredible sense of community. You don’t have to know Rhiana personally to attend. By simply showing up, you’re helping remind a local woman that she is surrounded by people who care.

When your nail tech tells you not to buy cheap products and do it yourself, it’s not about money.

It’s about safety.

Low quality products and improper use can lead to real problems like painful allergies, lifting, and even permanent damage to your natural nails.

This isn’t something you want to “learn as you go” on your own hands.

A good set of nails should feel comfortable, look natural, and last but not least, not do damage.

Gel allergies are no joke.
Once your body reacts, it’s not something to play with. It can get painful, itchy, and in some cases your nail can lift right off the nail bed.

I’m not a doctor, but I am a nail tech who cares about your safety. If you tell me you’ve had a reaction to gel, we are not experimenting. Period.

Your health always comes first in my chair.
