🎈 Come ride in a hot air balloon over Plano Flags of Honor!

Uplifting Adventures is offering tethered balloon rides over the field for our 10th anniversary, with a view of the flags you won’t get anywhere else.

🗓️ Friday, Nov. 6: Preview Night, the evening before Opening Day
🗓️ Saturday, Nov. 7: Opening Day
🕠 5:30–7:30 PM both nights
🎟️ $25 per rider
✨ Saturday evening will also feature a balloon glow (planned, pending weather and balloon availability)
📝 No sign-up needed: rides are first come, first served. Just sign a waiver at the field and ride!

📋 Know before you go:
• Tethered rides rise about 25–30 feet over the field
• Riders go up in small groups of about 3–4, arranged by the balloon crew for safety
• All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian, and must be able to stand on their own (they can’t be held). It helps if they’re tall enough to see over the basket’s edge.
• The basket is not wheelchair accessible, but everyone is welcome to watch from the ground, and our golf carts can help guests get around the field.

All balloon activities are weather permitting, so follow our page for updates the day of.

It was brought to my attention this morning that our OPEN sign had jokes this week! We turned it on. It glowed. But at some point in the day, on several days, it just quit on me. If we are supposed to be open, we likely are. Please don’t count on this jokester. I promise we are already looking for his replacement. All closures will be posted here as soon as I know about them. 😉✈️

Our guy in Pensacola texted me this morning.

“We made it through the night. How fast can you get supplies coming to people in Pensacola, GB and my core team of guys?

We are currently trapped in our neighborhood with both the east route (along Santa Rosa Sound and the north street completely blocked by massive oak and pine trees across the roads with power lines down everywhere.

This was a major wind event for us with zero storm surge. Even my cousin 20 miles to the north says it’s a war zone.

Items needed:

Tire patch kits, hammers, chain saws, chain sharpeners, crowbars, Gloves, commercial trash bags, chainsaw oil and chainsaw gas. Eye protection, eye wash, ear protection, Band-Aids and gauze. Mosquito repellent, sunscreen, water, pickle juice.

I don’t see us having power for at least 4-5 days and maybe longer.

The very big question is where or who can take all of the debris? IMillions of trees. This is reminiscent of Erin, Opal and Ivan without the storm surge.”

We should our mission base set up today. We will send out the location as soon as we get confirmation from the airport staff this morning.

Operation Airdrop is activating in response to Tropical Storm Isaias.

We are preparing to deploy volunteer pilots and ground teams to deliver critical supplies to storm-affected communities. This storm is developing quickly and is projected to become a hurricane. When roads are impassable, our mission begins.

Our response location is being finalized. Once confirmed, we will share where volunteers should report, which donated supplies are needed, and how you can support the mission.

We will be seeking volunteer pilots, ground volunteers, and donations to help meet identified needs. Please wait for confirmed instructions before traveling or bringing supplies.
