Please let us not forget the tragedy that took place this day 15 years ago. As you go about your day please take a couple minutes to reflect on how that day changed everything. Remember all of the people whose lives were lost, all of their family members, all of the first responders that ran into harms way, and all of the men and women who are still fighting in foreign countries to keep the fight away from our borders.

On June 6, 1944, more than 160,000 Allied troops landed along a 50-mile stretch of heavily-fortified French coastline, to fight N**i Germany on the beaches of Normandy, France. Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower called the operation a crusade in which, “we will accept nothing less than full victory.” More than 5,000 Ships and 13,000 aircraft supported the D-Day invasion, and by day’s end, the Allies gained a foot-hold in Continental Europe. The cost in lives on D-Day was high. More than 9,000 Allied Soldiers were killed or wounded, but their sacrifice allowed more than 100,000 Soldiers to begin the slow, hard slog across Europe, to defeat Adolf Hitler’s crack troops. Let us not forget the sacrifice and determination that these great Warriors showed!

Here is a little factoid for those of you in Tennessee who think that if you purchase a firearm from an FFL holder the gun is registered to you. By state and federal law there is no registration for guns purchased or transferred in Tennessee. By state law TICS destroys the actual firearm data after 90 days. The only federal registration is of stolen fi****ms. If the ATF recovers a firearm they have to actually start at the manufacturer or importer and go through each FFL holder until they reach the last licensed transfer, if there was an actual registration database this wouldn't be required. So, the only way the ATF will know that a particular firearm is or was registered to you is if you report it stolen or if it is recovered from a crime scene and traced back to you from the source.
