Here’s a quick recap of our highlighted designs from this week! We started off by framing “Wade in the Water II” by Ted Ellis, a travel poster for the French village of Gassin by Yohan Gaborit, and a signed, limited edition print by Howard Watson. We then framed “High Tide” by Lisa Ericson, and wrapped up the week with “French Doors with Cat,” an original acrylic and collage on canvas by Inna Dzhanibekova. “French Doors with Cat” is an original acrylic and collage on canvas by Inna Dzhanibekova. A pharmaceutical research scientist, Dzhanibekova brings her studies into many of her design ideas, working to capture the forms and colors of daily life. We’ve archivally presented this piece in a stacked frame, comprised of a black floater frame from Larson Juhl, antique silver ripple profile from Furst Brothers, cherry veneer profile from Studio Moulding, and champagne silver profile from Studio Moulding. The framing was designed in conjunction with Amy Cuker of Down 2 Earth Interior Design, and the final product now hangs in her office!

“High Tide” is a signed and numbered limited edition archival print from an original acrylic on panel by Lisa Ericson. She takes inspiration from science and environmental phenomena, adding her own surreal twist to the compositions. Ericson’s figures are singled out by a black background—a “void of the unknown”—which she uses to expose their tiny details. We’ve presented this piece as a raised float mount in our archival and economically priced “Artist Special” package, with maple frame and Museum Glass upgrades.

This is a signed and numbered limited edition print from an original watercolor by Howard N Watson (1929-2022) which depicts an iconic view of Philadelphia’s Boathouse Row in wintertime. Watson was a celebrated African-American watercolorist, illustrator, landscape artist, and teacher. Known for his impressionistic style, he often depicted the historical buildings, neighborhoods, streets, and landmarks of the Philadelphia region. We’ve presented this piece in our archival and economically priced “Artist Special” package, with a painted bevel mat upgrade.

Born and raised in New Orleans, Ellis is a self-taught artist who considers himself to be a “creative historian,” painting visual records of African-American culture and history. It features the couple’s birth woods, which are derived from Celtic tree astrology, shaping them into two “triquetra,” or Trinity knots. We’ve archivally presented this piece in a green patina wood profile from Fotiou, Crescent Brands matting with a hand painted black bevel, and TruVue 99% UV filtering “Conservation” glass.
