The Bunker is Moore County's only veteran owned military surplus & Militaria collectibles shop servicing Aberdeen, Carthage, Cameron, Vass, West End, Southern Pines, Pine Bluff, Whispering Pines, 7 Lakes, Robbins, and Pinehurst. For the past five and a half years Tom Flores operated his army surplus and historical military collectibles shop out of the former 1920s Esso gas station on Poplar St. In

January 2021, The Bunker moved into Aberdeen's historic district, at 119 N Sycamore Street. The new facility is 8 times the size of the original Bunker location but you will still find the same Great deals and amazing Militaria and it’s all conveniently displayed for your shopping pleasure. We have a little bit of everything and if we don't have what you're looking for let us know and I will see if we can get it in stock. Our aim is to carry a variety of items sought after by people not just in Aberdeen, Southern Pines, Pinehurst, but throughout the Sandhills area. In stock items include new or pre-owned field gear (i.e. ammo pouches, medical and first aid pouches, butt packs, pistol belts, LBE, LBV, LCE, FLC items, canteens, etools, and more), shelter halves and tents, ALICE and MOLLE ruck sacks and packs, camouflage uniforms (ie BDUs, ACUs, DCUs, and Multicam), helmets, boonies, hats, berets, leather and desert boots, badge and patch insignia, inert ordnance, bayonets, maps and documents, wooden ammunition crates, footlockers, field desks, ammo cans, cold and wet weather jackets, cots, tents, and much, much more. We recently added demilled and non functioning ordnance and crew served training aids, as well as historical displays. We also list items online, selling collectible militaria through eBay under the username, "thebunker_in_aberdeen_nc". Selling locally, and through the internet, enables our inventory to constantly turn over; resulting in new and different stock items. Looking to trade an item for something you can use? I’ve been going thru the store room and finding some older items to place out on the store floor. Scale models for war gaming, Russian pins and medals, canvas bags, and LMG slings.

Fun fact…

Today, 41 years ago, the Special Forces tab was approved by the Army’s Chief Staff on 17 JUNE 1983.

The Special Forces tab is awarded to any individual who has successfully completed the Special Forces Qualification Course or the Special Forces Officer Course.

The Special Forces tab is the longest of the Special skills tab, which is why it’s nicknamed the “Long Tab”!

Went hunting for some new and unusual inventory this weekend! I found some hard to find items and this time I’m not keeping them for myself.

Army rubber training rifle for the OPFOR …SVD sniper rifle.

Medium MOLLE ruck in multicam/OCP camo.

Old school T-10 parachute static lines and hooks. These are perfect for use in framed art or farewell gifts.

An experimental artctic cantee, cup, and cover.

Old WWI AND WWII rifle bayonets. They’re old but they are original!

original m1 grand cotton web sling to go along with the repro leather slings I already have.

For anyone coming to the historic downtown area of Aberdeen.

Road maintenance will begin Monday, May 6 on Sycamore Street in Downtown Aberdeen. Milling of Sycamore Street will occur from Main Street to Maple Avenue. Work is estimated to take two days.

Please use caution if traveling in the area and if possible plan an alternate route of travel.

I didn’t know this was happening on sycamore street this week nor do I know when they will be done…so you won’t be able to park in Sycamore st. That said there is parking in other areas of downtown Aberdeen so The Bunker will be open Tuesday thru Friday 19am to 5 pm.

Our Story

The Bunker is a veteran owned small brick and mortar shop specializing in a selection of army surplus and historical military collectibles. The Bunker is located inside a former 1920s Esso station, situated on the edge of Aberdeen's historic district, at 301 N. Poplar Street (just off HWY 1 behind the Napa Store). While it may be small, our use of tall shelves enables us to maximize use of space to stock and conveniently display our inventory.
