⭐️⭐️⭐️ ANOTHER ZENA GRADATION IN THE BOOKS. Over 100 women (116 to be exact!), have officially graduated from The Zena Launchpad. They’ve gone on to launch businesses, lift their families above the poverty line, and become leaders in their communities. We are so grateful for all the people who support this work and help us to continue offering this opportunity to more women.

Our new campus is nearly ready! In January, our next cohort of women entrepreneurs will be the first to train and work here. It’s a space designed to nurture learning, belonging, and transformation.

In partnership with HYT, an award-winning charity that trains young people in climate-friendly construction, our first three campus buildings were built using sustainable compressed earth blocks.

Zena was founded on the single premise that female entrepreneurs living under the poverty line have the power to rewrite the story of extreme poverty for their families and their communities.

Through short term employment contracts we provide both education and startup capital. While on our programme women access business, holistic and leadership development; as well as digital, financial, and functional literacy courses. They are also able to save 60% of their salaries each month as start up capital for their future businesses.

The impact of the Zena Launchpad goes beyond our one-year programme: in the last year the Zena graduates have hired employees, won major contracts with large businesses in town, attended trade shows, and scaled nationally.

Women in our program don’t just receive capital; they earn it through short-term employment contracts. We believe that employment allows women to learn that their time has value. Earning a pay check for herself profoundly impacts a woman’s self belief and sense of agency.

Earning also provides the perfect backdrop for education. Zena women learn business leadership, digital skills, leadership and financial literacy.

At Zena, we don’t just make fun jewellery. Over the last 9 years, we have come alongside 91 women who have gained the skills, confidence and capital to start businesses and pull their families above the poverty line. The Zena Launchpad programme exists to see sustainable, women-led change. Our programme is funded not only by the jewellery made by the women, but by our inner circle of monthly supporters.
