Abaana is a social business making original Uganda made, 100% cotton clothes for kids. Find out more on our website.

Abaana is a social business which started life in Uganda in 2015 - it means "children" in most Ugandan Bantu languages. The founders quickly discovered their common passion for ethically and quality sourced clothing and accessories for children and decided to start creating the first line of Abaana products. As most of our team is located directly in Uganda, we have a unique control over our value

chain, ensuring the highest quality in our products, minimizing our environmental footprint and guaranteeing social responsibility.

This is Bulbul the elephantΒ  from Kidepo Valley National Park, north eastern Uganda.
I met him many years ago and I cannot forget what an amazing priviledge it was to be able to watch him up close!🐘🐘🐘

Today we celebrate World Elephant Day
These beautiful, intelligent and magnificient creatures play an important part in maintaing the biodiversity of our rainforest eco systems.
They must be protected and efforts made reduce human - elephant conflict and to free those in captivity.

We had a wonderful day learning all about World Oceans DayΒ today while working on creating this sweet under the sea scene out of paper plates.

We talked about how it was important to protect all these beautiful sea creatures and their homes and what the Ocean gives us in return. Food, air, medicine, fresh water.

Happy World Oceans Day! πŸŸπŸ¬πŸ‹πŸ³πŸ πŸ‘πŸ¦ˆπŸ™

Happy World Environment Day 2021: 'Ecosystem Restoration'

All animals have a part to play in keeping the enviorment safe.
Here are a few of Nature's best recyclers.
Can you name any other animal recyclers?

1. Hermit Crabs- they don't grow their own shells but spend a lot of their time looking for a bigger shells to move into as they grow! (takepart.com)

2. Burrowing Owls- are one of the very few birds that make their nests in the ground- they are known to inhabit burrows that have been left behind by another animal.( treehugger.com) (birdorable.com)

3. Worms- are great recyclers ofΒ  fruit and vegetable scraps and peelings, tea leaves and coffee grinds and crushed egg shells and turn it into soil nutrients-Β  (tumbleweed.com.au)
