There are thousands of boys and girls living on the streets of Kampala. Baliko Martin Stuart a.k.a Matt B who is a journalist and a social worker was one of them, and after being raised up by a charity organisation called Retrak and this is his story. He suffered parental rejection and cruelty, had no other relative to care for him, turned to petty crime to survive and was harshl

y treated by the authorities. Many too, like Martin, now they are adults, try to help those who are still on the street. Much more needs to be done both by voluntary organisations and by the Ugandan government. These children have done nothing to deserve this lack of care.
