Established in November 2012, the Jamii Foundation (JF) is a non-governmental organization (NGO) that works with the Community of the Muheza district in Tanga Region to holistically address issues affecting the families and their livelihood particularly in Education, by providing books and support school fees to the community who are in need.

The founding members, Asha Nasib Shaban, and Abubakari Charles Karata, started the foundation in partnership with the Muheza youth`s club based on strong convictions to lift kids and youth out of vulnerability and ignorance.
