SATIN SCARVES/HEADBANDS PILLOWCASES, SCRUNCHIES.........AND WHY WE LOVE THEM💆
Wearing a scarf at night is about so much more than simply protecting your style or maintaining the look. Satin scarves bonnets and pillowcases actually prevent friction and dryness.
A cotton pillowcase is an issue in itself because it literally drains the hair of moisture like a paper towel soaks up water. So when you lay your head on the pillow, your hair becomes progressively dryer.
Cotton is not going to allow your hair to slide smoothly over its surface. The pillowcase is going to grab at your hair like Velcro and that leads to broken and damaged strands.
For those with weak or damage prone edges, sleeping without a scarf or bonnet can cause even more issues because your edges will be directly against a rough surface all throughout the night. Just think about babies and how they lose their hair on the backs of their heads when they are young and unable to roll over yet. So they lay on their heads night after night turning them back and forth. The constant friction and contact eventually rubs their hair right off of their heads and it can leave their fragile hair dry and rough.
Constant friction and contact while sleeping will lead to breakage.
That is why wearing a head scarf or bonnet and using a pillowcase is so incredibly important. It protects your hair from harsh contact, allowing your head to easily slide against other materials without your hair strands being snagged, pulled, and ripped throughout the night.
