The Petek family roots go back many generations: our forefathers were the nomadic leather craftsmen for the horseback warriors of the Ottoman Imperial Army. For more than half a millennia, the family stayed true to their craft as the company Petek was established in 1855, settling first in Macedonia, until finally returning home to Istanbul 100 years later. Today Petek 1855 is still family run, p

roducing modern leather goods which convey our belief in concious craftsmanship and intelligent design. We create leather goods in a manner which is considerate towards our team of 200 craftspeople and our environment, as every aspect of the craft process still remains in-house, safeguarding the brand’s twin goals of quality and sustainability.
