This clash along the Thai-Cambodian border was caused by Cambodians starting to shoot at residential areas, including villages, hospitals, schools, gas stations, convenience stores, etc. There were both deaths and injuries to civilians, including an 8-year-old child. Thailand did not intend to invade the area or use force, but rather to defend itself after Cambodia used weapons of war to harm innocent civilians.
การปะทะกันตามชายแดนไทยกับกัมพูชาในครั้งนี้เกิดจากการที่กัมพูชาได้เริ่มยิงใส่พื้นที่ชุมชน ทั้งหมู่บ้าน โรงพยาบาล โรงเรียน ปั้มน้ำมัน ร้านสะดวกซื้อเป็นต้น มีประชาชนทั้งเสียชีวิตและบาดเจ็บ หนึ่งในนั้นมีเด็กอายุ 8ขวบเสียขีวิตด้วย ไทยไม่ได้มีเจตนารุกล้ำพื้นที่หรือใช้กำลัง เป็นการป้องกันหลังกัมพูชาใช้อาวุธสงครามทำร้ายประชาชนที่บริสุทธิ์
