✨ Beginner quilts absolutely do NOT have to be boring 😂💜

One of my favorite things about modern quilting is how much personality color adds to a project.

Bright fabrics.
Bold contrast.
Unexpected color combinations.

That’s the stuff that makes quilting feel FUN to me.

Honestly, if a quilt makes me a little nervous color-wise, that usually means I’m going in the right direction 😅✨

✨ Choosing quilt fabrics used to completely overwhelm me 😂💜

Too many prints.
Too many colors.
Too many “what if this looks terrible together?” moments.

Honestly, one of the biggest things I’ve learned is:
quilts usually come together better when you stop trying to make everything perfectly match.

Contrast and variety actually make quilts MORE interesting ✨

✨ One of my favorite things about quilting is how much personality color adds to a project 💜

The exact same quilt pattern can feel:
✨ bold
✨ soft
✨ playful
✨ dramatic
✨ modern
✨ cozy

…all depending on fabric choices.

Honestly, seeing how different quilters interpret the same pattern is one of my favorite parts of designing.

✨ Quilt pattern design always starts with one question:

“Would this feel fun to make?” 💜

I love designing quilt patterns that feel approachable for beginners while still creating bold modern finishes that look exciting and unique.

Because quilting should feel creative — not intimidating.

Honestly, one of my favorite things is seeing how different every quilt becomes once people start choosing their own fabrics and colors. Even the same pattern can end up with completely different personalities. ✨

✨ Quilting color theory sounds WAY more intimidating than it actually is 😂💜

Honestly, most of the time my process looks like:
✔ pulling way too many fabrics
✔ staring at them dramatically
✔ moving colors around for 20 minutes
✔ suddenly deciding “okay wait… this works”

One of the biggest things I’ve learned:
contrast matters more than having “perfect” colors.

A quilt with strong light/dark contrast usually ends up looking more dynamic and interesting — even if the palette itself is simple.

Also:
if you love the colors, that honestly matters most anyway. ✨

👀 new fabric collection
👀 pretty colors
👀 maybe I NEED this one though

Honestly, I think collecting fabric and quilting are just two separate hobbies at this point 😂💜

✨ Current status: emotionally supported by fabric ✨

I may or may not have developed a tiny obsession with Basic Grey Grunge by Moda 😅

The texture, the colors, the way they work with modern quilt patterns… I just keep reaching for them over and over again.

Honestly, organizing fabric almost feels as satisfying as sewing sometimes. Almost. 😂
