Years ago before she got so famous with tv show and stuff, the title of the book caught my eyes-the life changing magic of tidying up. I was thinking, what a weird book title but profound.
So I decided to give it a try and I had to admit that besides saying goodbye to your stuff (I mean she actually talked to the objects), her method gave me a new perspective on letting go of things I don't need. it is really a life changing course of actions, a way toward living minimally. I think.

The most important point I got from this book is that it helps me focusing on things that "give me joy" (ha ha her words actually make sense). I can enjoy sentimental objects-the objects left by my dad that matter to my life, nice sophisticated design object that I use everyday(I am a designer .. so) without any noise of garbage clustering my life. We hold on to much stuff anyway. So if you haven't read this book, you should give it a try. It's also in Thai.

Another one of my favorite maker, Jenaer tea/coffee cup with saucer. A simple elegant glass cup setting your mood of the day, first cup of the day. I have seen clocks but it's the first time I've ever heard of porcelain wall clock. It's strangely beautiful kinda dreamy feel to it because it looks very soft but it's porcelain, the smooth matte texture helps the effect. The design is very elegant with the smooth sweep movement of the second hand. It is not so big so it's nice hanging on the wall next to your desk.

I love my glass thin, this glass from Toyo-Sasaki is very delicate. They are perfect for water, juice and especially beer 🙂 I love to imagine myself in a quiet place with a cold glass of beer and I would love my beer in this glass 🙂

We started Chatchada.com in Los Angeles many years ago and we are proud to say that we started a new trend of Japanese design in Los Angeles back then. Unfortunately, we had to close our online store down due to family matter and moved back to Thailand. When we got back to Thailand, the timing wasn't right but now we think it's time to start it back up again under a different name, Living With Design. We want to continue same vision when we started chatchada.com, to promote well designed everyday object, an affordable mass produced product questioning the meaning, value of design and its role in the society. We will continue to feature designer like Masahiro Mori of Hakusan Porcelain in Japan, though they are mass produced but the design value is no less than an art piece in our opinion. His design is meaningful, subtle yet provocative. We hope to continue offering a meaningful and well designed products.

Just want to share one of my favorite pieces by Sori Yanagi. I doubt it that it is still in production. The design is so elegant and sophisticated that it make me happy just looking at it... I know it should be on the table but it took me a while to find this piece. so it will go on a shelf as show piece, a sculpture.
