Cyclists and pedestrians should note that cycling is legally allowed on pavements and walkways in Singapore, unless there is a sign which says "no cycling".
Contrary to that, a man believed firmly that cycling was not allowed and decided that cyclists shall not pass him on any pavement.
On 28 Aug around 8pm, the man was strolling along Amber Road with his wife when he decided to block the way of two cyclists. When the cyclists rang the bell to alert him, he turned and hurled abuse and vulgarities continuously at both the male and female cyclists.
He then taunted the male cyclist to hit him on the face if he was unhappy, and eventually challenged the male cyclist to a spar at the gym when none of his verbal attacks worked.
The two cyclists were more amused than agitated. Seeing that he did not manage to cause any anger in the two cyclists but invited only laughter and mockery at his own antics, the man then kicked the bicycle of the male cyclist and stomped off. Hmm.
Reminder to all readers that cycling is indeed legally allowed so do try to give way to cyclists in future.
