Daniel Chong is an artist-curator whose curatorial approach grows from the curiosities within his artistic practice. Drawing from the often uncanny nature of affect, his projects are extended artistic experiments within the loose framework of an exhibition. His curation spans exhibitions such as Sugar pills for a bitter world (2022) at Objectifs as the 2022 Objectifs Curator Open Call Recipient and Bad Imitation (2022) at Tanjong Pagar Distri-park.

Pixie Tan is an Art Director and Educator from Singapore. Her practice takes a collaborative approach to questioning the conditions of labour. Drawing from her experience in fashion and advertising, she designs sustainable and socially minded solutions for artists and cultural groups.

“Developing this new set of pieces definitely required me to go brush off some rusty skills and reacquaint myself with both familiar and new materials. I took the opportunity to test out a bunch of resins, waxes and silicones different from ones i'd worked with in the past- which meant getting myself familiar with how they behave and the ways temperature, surfaces and other chemicals affected how they cure- or harden/set, as these compounds don't dry but rather go through a chemical process of being catalysed, which can be a bit finicky depending on the weather, contact with other substances and other things.”

In this window display by , she uses an awkward meeting with a stranger as her starting point. Like the form of an awkward outstretched arm, it is strange yet cordial. Much like encountering this edition’s products, it reflects our desire to softly renegotiate the tiny relationships in your domestic space - a stranger meeting made anew.
