On 5 March, the town of Røros, Norway opened this year’s Vinterfestspill i Bergstaden, a festival celebrating music and art.
During the festival, Røros Kunstmuseum opened the exhibition “Peter Opsvik – Moved by Movement”, inaugurated by Norway’s former Minister of Culture, Valgerd Svarstad Haugland.
The exhibition explores Opsvik as a designer, artist and musician, highlighting how movement has shaped his thinking throughout his life.
Several iconic designs from Peter are displayed in the museum - including the Globe Concept, continuing his exploration of active sitting and movement.
The festival also includes a music programme connected to the exhibition, arranged in cooperation with the Berliner Philharmonisches Orchester and performed by renowned musicians.
The exhibition runs until September 2026 and is well worth visiting if you happen to be in Norway in the coming months.
