I'm back after a break from knife making in order to prioritize life and actually make some money after parental leave 🤪

I'll be in the workshop one day per week during autumn and hopefully some more during the winter. I will be focused on producing knives for the shop for a while, so custom orders will have to wait.

The picture shows the knife I made for my grandfather last year, captured by .

AEB-L 270mm Sujihiki with "double sori (naturally curved spine)" due to heat treat misshaps. A bog oak handle with birch bark and masur birch spacer together with a matching saya.

This is a Kogatana Petty I finished before Christmas. It's now accompanied by the similar but smaller one I did about a year ago. A full size 270 Gyuto variant next?

Spalted wood gets it's interesting pattern once it starts to rot and fungi spreads in the grain. This is a piece of spalted birch which will be accompanied by brass and reindeer antler in a handle for a Japanese blade.

Finished at last! A 270x55 AEB-L stainless S-ground blade. Bog oak, birch bark and musk ox handle with a peened brass butt for a more middle balanced knife. Accompanied by a matching bog oak saya with masur birch spacer and peened brass pin.

Just like all the other knives I make, everything ground and sanded completely by free hand, no jigs used here!

I love making these. Wood is truly amazing.
