Right from the moment we order the yarn for our rugs we know who the rug is designed for. All our rugs are made to order and tailored to the customer’s individual wishes and needs. At Kasthall each woven and hand tufted rug is one of a kind, and receives a hand-signed label after its quality has been checked to the very last thread. THE BEST FROM NATURE
We choose our materials with the utmost care. Aside from appearance, it is important that the yarns we use have the characteristics we demand for various types of settings , such as wear resistance, fire resistance and environmental requirements. Our woven and hand tufted rugs are therefore made almost exclusively from the finest natural materials; wool and linen.

September in Paris.

September rug, designed by Louise Hederström, takes centre stage in a beautiful Parisian setting as part of an exhibition curated by Hostler Burrows Design Miami Paris.

Presented alongside Gal Gaon’s Gyuku Collection, the rug brings texture, depth and a sense of nature to the space, creating a dialogue between contemporary design and timeless craftsmanship.

The Making of September.

A closer look at the craftsmanship behind September, designed by Louise Hederström and brought to life at Kasthall’s mill in Kinna, Sweden.

Combining six different tufting techniques, carefully selected yarns and variations in pile height, September unfolds into a richly textured landscape inspired by the changing seasons. A meeting of technical precision, creative exploration and the human hand, where every thread adds to its unique expression.

From the making process in Sweden to Paris — September will be presented by Hostler Burrows at Design Miami Paris, opening October 20, 2026.

Innovators of tufting.

At Snäckan 8 in Stockholm, Kasthall explores the possibilities of tufting beyond the traditional rug.

Based on September by Louise Hederström, bespoke textile surfaces in wool and linen create an architectural landscape shaped by variations in colour, pile height and texture.
The project reflects Kasthall’s approach to textile craftsmanship, combining technical precision, material knowledge and human skill.

In Atlas, the warp threads remain visible within the weave, an uncommon feature that contributes texture and a subtle shift in light across the rug. The interplay between warp and weft gives it a layered character, where color is integrated deep into its structure.

Yesterday’s heavy rainfall in Copenhagen left us with a rather wet surprise in our exhibition space. After a busy morning of drying things out and putting everything back in order, we’re happy to be opening our doors again for the final day of 3daysofdesign.
