Mollie Pom-Keane and Flo were the dream wedding clients (although I seem to attract quite a few of those 🥰). They booked me 18 months in advance, which meant I could plan my entire flower-growing season around their wedding.
Every stem for their celebration was grown by me from seed or, in the case of the dahlias, from tubers planted in my little greenhouse months before the big day.
They got married in October, so we decided together that the focal flowers would be amaranthus and dahlias in all shapes and rich autumnal colours. We wanted bold, warm and romantic arrangements.
A few months before the wedding, Mollie sent me this photo of her Grandma Margaret on her own wedding day, decades earlier. And what was in her bouquet? Dahlias. It felt like such a beautiful full-circle moment.
I designed Mollie's bouquet with a gentle cascade, using my most beautiful dahlias as a modern interpretation of her grandmother's bouquet. She absolutely loved it and tell me so, very often, years after.
I adore wedding floristry because, at its heart, marriage is about love, family and community. Through my flowers, I get to become a tiny part of your story, and sometimes that story spans generations.
This is why I only take on a limited number of weddings each year, so I can grow flowers specifically for each couple and create something that's completely their own.
