Visual storytelling is more than just the ability to recreate a photo

It allows me the ability to give you more background information on the message that you want me to convey

So paying attention to detail, lighting, and color sets the tone for this story, and it is just as imperative as the subject itself

It makes you walk away with feeling, with nostalgia — for a place you’ve never been

Share your story with me, and see just how moving the nuances in art can be

Cosplay is so fun, but so expensive 😫

And what happens if you gain or lose weight? You have to throw out, donate, or resell all of the costumes that don’t fit you anymore. It’s such a hassle.

Or is it? 🤔

Join me as I learn how to make movie-accurate costumes, because why not?

Since I’m learning it for myself anyway, I wanted to spread the love and offer that if you have a costume idea that you’re willing to let me learn to make, I’ll make it for you at a small cost.

Obviously, this is a limited time offer, because as I get more professional I will be charging more.

Shoot me a DM/email if you’re interested!

This one was a huge deal for me.

I had to put in a lot of detail in a short amount of time. I focused on the details that mattered most.

Some hidden appearances like:
The client gifting this painting (a scroll) to his wife for their anniversary
Me, my husband, my friend, and our cats
People who were actually on set as extras

Most importantly, making sure I capture the ambience of Dale before Smaug attacks: colorful, calm, and welcoming.

If you had a painting like this, what city would you want to insert your hidden appearance into?

If you’re wondering where I’ve been, the answer is: with Mother Nature 🌿

Photography is one of the arts I pride myself in. Yet, believe it or not, I didn’t take these photos to be a good photographer. In fact, they’re raw photos on the automatic setting.

This is just nature unfiltered.

That’s where my soul finds rest. 🌿

Where the air is fresh, the world is quiet, and peace feels effortless.

J. R. R. Tolkien was notorious for describing things in excruciating detail — except the city of Dale.

So when The Hobbit was turned into a movie, the set designers scrambled to depict a city that accurately resembled what Tolkien had in mind.

And so did I.

One of the most important descriptive clues he gave was ‘Tibet meets Venice, but still unique enough that Dale is one-of-a-kind’

In the movie, it’s all an illusion. It’s the same 30 people surrounded by the same buildings, just taken at different angles and superimposed upon each other. That’s exactly what I did for this painting of Dale as well.

This specific building was taken from a concept sketch for the film. I filled in the colors I found most likely to be present based on the history and context of research the art directors used to create the set.

🐉You can explore my interpretation of Dale brick-by-brick by art print or jigsaw puzzle, available soon on my website or by DM🐉
