We like company in the workshop, and we will te

ach you how to print. Our birthday festival - Den Längsta Natten (The Longest Night) - takes place around the 21 st of december every year since 2021. We give away day time to society, but night time is the right time for creating, loving, talking, working. Therefore the longest night is our epicenter, the day we gravitate against, the end and beginning of our year.

A collection of shadow books and prints from the workshop spirits. Workshop spirits, as you know, have to be on your side. When they dance in the right pace magical elements align, new images appear, and the printer can sleep well after a long day’s work. For the exhibition at Grafik i Väst Gallery we have prepared a ghost library with one-of-a-kind artist books and prints, shown alongside our large collection of screen printed editions and hand made books. The shadow books get printed on the side, over a long period of time, capturing shards from here and there as the papers fly through the press, and thus recording an alternative world of layers, one that cannot be forward planned, just assembled with curiosity and awe. Taken out of its intended order, each printed layer carries its own rhythm and sound into a new constellation, recognizable but charged with mishap, mischief and mist. Together they show the collective memory of the workshop, Longest Night.

New in shop! Screen Print Guide with special reference to halftone rasters and transparencies by printmaker Jan Konsin of Kalasataman Seripaja is our most ambitious book to date (15+ screens on 4 sheets!), printed together with the author during a feverish week in April 2026 and co-published with Finnish Rab-Rab Press. The systematic, tactile review of halftone shapes, resolutions and angles makes this pile of paper an indispensable treasure to the screenprinter’s internationale. Page after page of technical detail but not a showcase of flawless lines, rather purposely hitting the limits of our equipment’s precision and touching the borderlands of screen print capacity (as far as line weight go).

This guide illustrates raster sizes and shapes, as well as how changes in dot size, spacing, form, and angle impact the final print. It also explains the moiré pattern—those wavy lines that appear when dots interact with the screen mesh—and how to avoid them. In addition, it showcases handmade originals—drawings created directly on transparent film using various media. One spread illustrates transparency and opacity when printing overlapping solid colors.

New in shop! A noisy book for a traveling tribe. This screen printed book by US noise artist Max Julian Eastman collects a distorted selection of his “Refusions” – collages assembled on cardboard backing using refuse and scrap elements assembled in a subconscious manner, “almost a cryogenic study to preserve refuse.” The book was printed for the occasion of Max’s return to the workshop less than a year after his first visit, a cyclic but unpredictable crossing of paths that allows the underground a taste of continuity and ideas that were uttered once may materialize 🤩
