So.. as some may know and most probably don’t, there are new rules regarding shipments within and to the EU.
The main issue is thet they are tryin to reduce the amount of waste (packaging material) that are being shipped around by having the sender take responsibility for the material in the receiving country.
A very sound and beautiful plan, if you ask me. But also a very blunt and disastrous plan for everyone that operates a small-ish company (me for example).
These new regulations went live the 12/8 and to be honest it took me by surprise. I never in a million years could have guessed EU would so throughly pull the rug from small businesses as they did. But here we are.. if you want to read up on it you can google PPWR & EPR.
Fortunately someone eventually woke up and figured that maybe this wasn’t such a bright idea, so an exemption is coming for small businesses. Better late than never I suppose.
Sometimes I wonder how the people in charge actually got hired.
In the meantime, hopefully you (my customers within the EU) won’t notice anything, at worst you can expect longer shipping times, hopefully not.
