ุงู„ู„ู‘ูŽู‡ูู…ู‘ูŽ ุฅูู†ู‘ููŠ ุฃูŽุนููˆุฐู ุจููƒูŽ ู…ูู†ู’ ุฒูŽูˆูŽุงู„ู ู†ูุนู’ู…ูŽุชููƒูŽุŒ ูˆูŽุชูŽุญูŽูˆู‘ูู„ู ุนูŽุงูููŠูŽุชููƒูŽุŒ ูˆูŽููุฌูŽุงุกูŽุฉู ู†ูู‚ู’ู…ูŽุชููƒูŽุŒ ูˆูŽู…ูู†ู’ ุฌูŽู…ููŠุนู ุณูŽุฎูŽุทููƒูŽ

โ€œO Allah, I seek refuge in You from the loss of Your blessings, the withdrawal of Your well-being, the sudden onset of Your punishment, and from all that incurs Your displeasure.โ€

What a remarkable supplication from a servant to his Lord. In just a few words, it gathers four fears that can completely overturn a person's life and change a well-established reality in an instant.

A blessing that has been enjoyed for years may suddenly disappear. Health and well-being, often taken for granted, can be replaced by hardship and illness. A person may feel secure today, only to be struck by an unexpected trial tomorrow. And above all, there is no greater loss than falling into the displeasure of Allah after having enjoyed His favor.

This duโ€˜a teaches us that every blessing we possessโ€”our faith, health, family, wealth, security, and peace of mindโ€”is not guaranteed. It remains with us only by the mercy and protection of Allah. Therefore, a believer does not merely ask for blessings; he asks Allah to preserve them. He does not only seek goodness; he seeks protection from everything that may take it away.

How much we need this supplication in our lives. It is a reminder to remain grateful during times of ease, humble in the face of blessings, and constantly dependent upon Allah for protection and steadfastness.

May Allah preserve His blessings upon us, grant us lasting well-being, protect us from sudden trials and His displeasure, and make us among His grateful servants. Ameen.
