-‘we are the ones to make a brighter day for you and me’-

We stand as many, or so we seem,
Separate stars in a fragmented dream.
For Maya weaves with threads of lies,
A veil of distance for our human eyes.
"You are distinct," she whispers, so we trace
Our separate lines, across a different space.
Each heartbeat lonely, each unique soul,
Forgetting we are parts within a larger whole.
But look, like shadows on a cave-born wall,
Is this not the error that would see us fall?
If all of history can make us see,
Then know that I am you, and you are me.
When politics ignite with words that burn,
It's this forgotten truth we must relearn.
To love thy neighbor, not because you must,
But understanding that in their face, your trust
Is also mirrored back. To love thyself is not complete,
Until you find yourself beneath your other’s feet.
In times when hearts are hardened by the fray,
This ancient wisdom must show us the way.
For when we love, the illusion’s power fades,
And in that love, the separate self dissolves its chains.
It’s not a soft sentiment, but an anchor profound,
To heal the very divisions that now abound.
Through Maya's veil, a greater light now shines,
Love is the connection, the key to all designs.
