✨🇷🇴 Romanian creativity featured on one of the biggest stages in the world.
When Shakira took the stage at the 2026 FIFA World Cup Final, her dancers were wearing costumes created by Romanian designer Rafaela Pestrițu, originally from Slatina.
The project came about through Shakira’s stylist, with whom she had worked before. In record time, Pestrițu and her team designed and produced 40 custom looks, brought to life by her studio in partnership with a family-owned factory in Slatina.
Rafaela Pestrițu is a Romanian fashion designer from Slatina who has built an international career in London. A graduate of Central Saint Martins, Rafaela has also designed for Christina Aguilera, Kylie Minogue, and Charli XCX.
Seeing creations made in Romania featured during one of the world’s most-watched sporting events is a proud reminder that Romanian talent, creativity, and craftsmanship continue to make their mark on the global stage. 👏🇷🇴
