Repost• European Jewellery Federation] The European Federation of Jewellery 💎 welcomes two legislative breakthroughs from European Parliament Committees.

A consensus was found on establishing a new cash payment celling at 7.000€ levelling the playing field across Europe 💸: that's good news for the European jewellery sector!

There is also good news for and : must now be scientifically backed! Then, misleading commercial practices on synthetic diamonds are to decrease.

Final decisions yet to be made in the Plenary at the 🇪🇺 in April before trialogues.

"Credem foarte mult în publicul românesc care a învățat în anii care au trecut să iubească bijuteria și din altă perspectivă decât cea a metalului și a pietrelor prețioase. Există un public dedicat bijuteriei contemporane care dorește să vadă originalitate, noi creații și nume noi care debutează în acest domeniu, alături de artiști și branduri consacrate. Este un proiect pe care îl vom poziționa ca galerie de artă și design, iar pereții galeriei vor fi rezervați artiștilor: ilustratori, graficienilor, fotografilor și gravorilor."

David Sandu Jewelry - the first Romanian artist who made contemporary jewelry his main field of interest and expression - has joined the jury of the Legnica Jewellery Festival Silver in 2023. He begins his apprenticeship as a jewelry designer at the age of 13 in the studio of Vlad Gherghiceanu (sculptor and jewelry artist), and soon gets in touch with the classic techniques of author jewelry from the aesthetic and conceptual perspective of contemporary art. After graduating UNARTE – The National Arts University in Bucharest, he works as an independent designer and in 2006 opens the first contemporary jewelry gallery in Romania and participates in numerous international exhibitions. In 2010, David Sandu sets the foundations of Assamblage - Școala de Bijuterie Contemporană and Assamblage National Jewelry Association, playing a major role in the formation of a new generation of artists and designers. 💎 In 2020, he became a founding member and curator of the international event Romanian Jewelry Week, alongside Ioana Andrei and Valentina Buzamurga, an event already at its fourth edition.
