Apostol Guitars I am an independent luthier from Romania with over 15 years of professional experience. He is – Kai Hansen, a founding member of Helloween.

During these years, I have customized hundreds of top (Gibson, Fender, ESP) guitars, mostly recreations of James Hetfield’s iconic guitars. For 10 years now, I have been creating my own designs, utilizing premium exotic materials, collaborating with my clients to produce high end, made to measure guitars. In 2015 I built a guitar specifically for James Hetfield which I sent it to the Metclub, wher

e it remained for 3 years, after which, it was returned to me. I did not receive information with regards to whether James knew about this or not. I have clients globally, including a recognized artist who, owns and utilizes two of my guitars.

This is Abyss Kraken. It is not just a work of art meant to be admired, but an instrument built to be played hard.

The guitar is entirely hand-pyrographed across the body, neck, fretboard, and headstock, while the Antonio logo is made from natural mother-of-pearl.
For better visibility on stage, I integrated side fiber optics with adjustable brightness. The frets are stainless steel, and the nut is made from American buffalo horn.

To highlight the pyrography, I used several finishing techniques, and in the end I chose a matte lacquer. To the touch, you can feel the pores of the wood, its natural texture, and the living character of the instrument.

Greetings from the workshop!

I recently finished this custom guitar built for a client from the United States. It was a project that took about four months, from the first ideas to the final instrument.

The guitar is finished with acrylic paint and matte lacquer.

I build guitars entirely to order, each instrument being made according to the client’s wishes and specifications.

Every time I complete a project like this, I feel the same joy I felt when I built my very first guitar.
