I never expected to find myself writing this post, and my feelings about Wolf Pack are truly mixed. What began as a single figure for the Vintage Action Man Collectors Club Exclusive in 2018 quickly evolved into a leader in producing exclusive and exciting uniforms for collectors like us. I never planned for it to become a business, especially since I have a busy life as a professional photographer, managing a working ranch, and living in the beautiful Algarve, Portugal. However, when the pandemic hit, my photography business slowed down, leaving Kellie and me with some spare time. So, we decided to have some fun with Wolf Pack, and to our surprise, it turned into a successful full-time business.
When the world started returning to normal, so did our photography business, and we found it increasingly challenging to juggle both. Clients and customers were affected because we couldn't give 100% to both businesses. I had to ask myself, "What do I enjoy more?" I had dedicated five years of my life to Wolf Pack, creating outfits that I wanted to own and luckily, that you wanted to own as well. Your support gave me the strength to push the envelope and create truly unique items. But, with every high comes a low. I was spending less time with my family, and my passion for the hobby was waning as I couldn't enjoy my own collection. Even the Facebook group I founded, Vintage Action Man Collectors, saw less of me because I didn't have the time to be involved.
Then in September, Kellie and I decided to take a four-day break and drove to the medieval town of Tomar in the North of Portugal, a place deeply influenced by the Knights Templar. Ironically, the Templar Knight outfit was one of my favorites that I created for Wolf Pack. In this moment of peace, I realized that if I wanted my life back, I had to let go of Wolf Pack.
Kellie and I want to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who supported us, whether you were regular customers, occasional shoppers, or just observers. Your support means more to us than you know. I also want to thank the admin team of VAMC for managing the group while I was off sourcing fabric, designing outfits, and handling suppliers and shipments. A special thanks to Chris Ferguson for suggesting a club exclusive figure back in 2018 in the first place, as it set me on this incredible journey. And of course, immense gratitude to my wife,Kellie, who played an indispensable role in running the office, managing orders, communicating with customers, and handling postal runs.
Now, the burning question is, will Wolf Pack return? It's a tough one. I own the business and I will keep the website in maintenance mode, but Right now, I'm burnt out, and I've created all the outfits I ever wanted to see, and more that you wanted to see. so, at this moment, I have nothing left to give. I want to rediscover the passion for the hobby that's been a part of my life for 30 years. But... as they say, wolves have a tendency to lick their wounds and come back stronger! so watch this space ;)
But for now on behalf of Kellie and myself I think the little guys in the picture says it all.... together we made it possible.
